Let’s take a snapshot at various sites in Awaji Island from the North to South along with route 28.

A highway (Awaji-Naruto highway) connecting the north and the south located on the hill-top area.
The entrance of Awaji-Yumebutai, a hotel and an international congress hall, built under the plan by an architect, Tadao Ando. The area was used to be a ruin after removing soil for building Kansan Air Port, now covered by green.

Several brick buildings which were used to be a textile factory of Kanebo Co. about 100 years ago. Those are now open for Sumoto citizens and tourists.

Sen-zan mountain located at the north end of Sumoto city. At the top of this mountain Senkoji temple is enshrined. The temple is the religion center for Awaji people.
